Teaser

First performed at the Central Opera Theater in 1955, the story depicts two Tibetan tribes in northwestern China. Instigated by the feudal warlord government, the tribes engage in a long-standing feud and retaliatory killings, bringing suffering to the people. A young couple belonging to the opposing tribes also endures immense pain. It is only in 1949, when the Liberation Army advances into the vast grasslands and correctly implements ethnic policies, that the two tribes reconcile, allowing the young lovers to finally unite.
